A clearer start.
Help when you need it.

The beta is early, and setup matters. Here’s the path from download to a workspace you understand — and where to turn when something’s off.

Start with the right package.

Check what you downloaded. Compare the filename, SHA-256, and publisher against the release record before installing. If something doesn’t match, stop and write to us.
Install it. Double-click the .msix and choose Install. Windows shows the publisher as Applied Autonomy LLC — no security warnings to click through.
Build your profile. Add your resume or work history, then review the extracted facts and preferences. This profile drives ranking and the checks on generated claims, so it’s worth a careful look.
Choose your connections. Add an AI provider key if you want drafts prepared — check billing and privacy terms first. Authorize Gmail separately if you want email drafts.
Review the results. Check the local status and activity history, and inspect every draft — recipient and attachments included — before sending it yourself.

Gmail says access is blocked.

Your Google account probably isn’t on the tester list yet. Reply to your access-code email, or contact support with the error text and your release version — we’ll get you approved. Never send your password, API key, or authorization token.

No draft appeared.

Out of the box the app only does discovery. Drafts need an AI provider key configured, a suitable opportunity, and passed claim checks — a blocked or deferred application is the checks doing their job, not a bug. Check the local status before retrying.

Disconnecting and removing data

Use the local controls to pause the engine or disconnect Gmail, and revoke Google access anytime in your Google Account settings. With a phone paired, switch off Phone updates on the Pair a phone page; new updates stop from the next cycle. Unpair from the same page so the PC stops sending, and use Unpair and erase in the Android app’s Settings so the phone erases its copy and, when it is online, tells the relay to discard the pairing’s channel; anything still on the relay expires within 30 days.

On the local dashboard, use Remove AI provider key under Controls. It deletes the key stored on this PC; the engine keeps the copy it already loaded until it next starts, and from then on drafts nothing. From source or an advanced terminal, CareerSeeker.exe clear-byok --key-vault .appdata/secrets/byok-keys.dpapi does the same. Revoke the key at the provider too if you want it gone everywhere.

Also delete any provider keys from environment variables or secrets/env.secrets if you supplied them there. CareerSeeker does not retain copies of provider keys outside the local configuration you control.

The app’s delete-all-data command shows you the workspace path and a confirmation phrase before deleting anything — its first run deletes nothing. Uninstalling the app is a separate step, and exports you saved elsewhere stay where you put them. The full control story is on Safety & security.
